I was blessed growing up to have a relative with Down syndrome. Great Uncle Jack. We learned as young children that people with disabilities can accomplish so much, more than that we learned acceptance of those different than us. Jack holds a special place in our hearts. We met Gigi and her phenomenal mom, Nancy, first as a guest on Laurie’s podcast, Owning Your Legacy (Please like and subscribe!), and then at a Gigi’s fundraising Gala a few years back. We consider them friends. We have attended the gala every year since. This is our version of adult prom, and has become a tradition with our friends and family that we cherish. We quickly learned how much LOVE the Down community shares with the world. We grew up with a Down person and hold them dear, knowing that the Down community has so much to contribute to society, and getting acceptance world wide is very important to us.
